Our joint travel experience over the past 25 years has covered a good bit of the globe. We have successfully done this in the company of adults, solo, and as a family with children.

In one "escape" we travelled to New Zealand, tramped the fabulous Milford Sound Track, peered down the throat of the actively volcanic White Island crater, and drove 5000 kilometres through the north and south islands BEFORE flying across to Tahiti to live elegantly by the Moorea lagoon just as the French holidayers there do.

It was all a magnificent adventure and, compared to the brochures, very economical.

We have most recently completed a 28 day circle starting in Sydney(Australia) and visiting Hobart-Chengdu-Lhasa(Tibet)-Xian-Kuching(Borneo)-The Maldives-Colombo-Melbourne-Sydney.

Watching monks having philosophical arguments at close range in the Sera Monestry was engrossing, Snorkling the outer reef around Maayafushi Island was heavenly. Witnessing the Tropical Rainforest Music Festival in Kuching was a delight. All in just 28 days!

Where next? Africa, the Middle East, India, Uzbekistan & Mongolia are beckoning strongly. Alaska and Yellowstone National Park are competing hard.

Our Favourite Moments:

Coming in on the ferry to land on Stromboli Island (Italy) under the cone of its perfectly formed and densely smoking volcano.

Riding the rack railway up beyond the glowing snowline of Mount Riga (Switzerland) and then catching the cable car down to the lake below.

Walking around Barcelona all day in the sunshine and visiting each of Gaudi's great architectural curiousities.

Standing on Kalapatthar, after a 7 day trek, and watching the morning sun rise above Mount Everest.

Over-nighting in isolated farm hostels throughout magnificent Iceland.
